BLÅMANN VERTICAL KM

We are sad to announce that we will be canceling the 2022 Blåmann Vertical KM due to too few participants. It is unlikely that we will continue this race due to lack of interest, but we highly recommend a trip to the summit while visiting Tromsø!
Blåmann Vertical is a true "vertical kilometer"! The race starts at the sea and climbs directly to the 1044 m high summit of Store Blåmann, the highest summit on Kvaløya island. Just 20 minutes from Tromso, the summit is iconic, and the north face is one of the most famous climbing walls Northern Norway.
THE COURSE:
Blåmann Vertical starts on soft, but steep trail. The terrain then turns to a combination of talus and bedrock. Closer to the summit there is some scrambling required. There is no transport service or water available at the summit.
There is a cut-off at 500 meters of elevation at 45 minutes.
